Music at Florence Night Out 2022

Florence Night Out is proud to showcase talented, diverse local artists and musicians to give a taste of the Valley’s vibrant music scene. Read on to learn more about the bands joining us at this year’s festival!

HIGH TEA

High Tea is an indie-folk duo and we play all original rock, folk, and blues songs! Our performance will be full of harmonies, guitar licks, percussion, and more. Audiences can expect story driven songs support by a blend of new and old musical aesthetics.

THE BASEMENT CATS

The Basement Cats, an indie rock n’ roll band from Holyoke, Massachusetts, have been perfecting since their inception in early 2010. This sound, coupled with The Basement Cats boisterous, raucous, and extremely volatile live show, is a force strong enough that, upon their sets completion, it’ll make you get up from your chair, step outside, shed a single tear, and declare to yourself: “That’s fresh, that’s genuine, that’s potent, that’s Rock n’ Roll.”

GASLIGHT TINKERS

African, Caribbean, Funk, Reggae, and Latin grooves meet traditional fiddle music. It’s the genre-bending future of the music of the past. The Gaslight Tinkers’ blend of global rhythms creates a joyously danceable sound around a core of traditional New England old time and celtic fiddle music, merging boundless positive energy with melody and song. Since its formation in 2012 the band has lit up the East Coast, the West Coast, and the Caribbean, headlining clubs, dances, and major festivals.

StompBoxTrio

StompBoxTrio explores/blends 20th-century American blues, rock, and soul with some 21st century mojo. With Evelyn Harris on vocals & percussion, John Cabán on dobro, stompbox, and vocals and Paul Kochanski on upright & electric bass, foot tambourine and vocals, this trio is sure to bring the energy to the stage.

VIMANA

Vimana is an instrumental jazz-rock trio based in Western Massachusetts. With Brian Rodrigues on bass, Bruce Todd on drums, and Leo Hwang on guitar, they play primarily original compositions that weave tight grooves with improvisational passages in a way that reflect this particular historical era we are experiencing together.

TANG SAUCE

John Manselle-Young otherwise known as Tang Sauce is an American hip-hop recording artist, songwriter, dancer, instrumentalist, and actor. He has hosted the Trinity International Hip Hop Festival, has his own pandora.com station, and has been featured on the cover of Connecticut newspaper CTNOW. Tang brings an old school Hip-Hop flow with a new school perspective, with which he spreads peace, love, and positivity.

BOMBYX BRASS COLLECTIVE

The Bombyx Brass Collective is a new project, inspired by the passion and dedication of area professional and amateur musicians and teachers, devoted to presenting quality music to diverse audiences. The 30-piece ensemble features fine brass and percussion players from throughout Western Massachusetts and plays a mix of musical genres from classical to jazz to pop. BBC members include current college music majors, active and retired music teachers, working professional musicians, and talented amateur musicians.
