From 5:30-7:45pm at CITGO (22 N Main Street), you can catch performances by Khalif Neville, Kimaya Diggs, & Phenomena 256!
5:30-6:15: Khalif Neville is a Jazz Keyboard musician. He combines Jazz standards with Originals and New Orleans classics paying homage to his family heritage. Khalif’s musical heritage runs deep; born into the first family of New Orleans music, the Nevilles have long been recognized as ambassadors for the city’s distinctive style of funk, soul and R&B. Khalif spent the first few years of his life steeping in the Crescent City’s cultural gumbo, then moved to Western Massachusetts where he began voraciously studying music with his father, Charles Neville. Now in his early twenties, Khalif has earned his stripes as an accomplished pianist, composer, lyricist, and torch bearer of the New Orleans tradition. Now a member of the Florence community, Khalif is excited to bring his music to FNO! Find him on Instagram @khalifneville_ or on Facebook.
6:15-7:00: Kimaya Diggs is all about folky soul — with influences spanning many genres, Kimaya Diggs melds the folky acrobatics of Joni Mitchell, the jazz stylings of Ella Fitzgerald, the catchy soul of Lianne LaHavas, and yet has something you can’t quite put your finger on that makes her entirely unique. Her mastery of her voice is the focal point of each performance, and a transfixing experience. Go listen to her album Breastfed on Bandcamp or Spotify!
